CALL TO WORSHIP

Leviticus 10:3 says: “This is what the Lord spoke, saying…I must be glorified [worshipped].”  Because we so easily forget what it means to worship God, regularly we need to focus our thoughts again.  Consider what author and Pastor Kent Hughes writes.

The unspoken, but increasingly common assumption of today’s Christendom is that worship is primarily for us – to meet our needs.  Such worship services are entertainment focused, and the worshippers are uncommitted spectators who silently grade the performance…taken to the nth degree, this instills a tragic self-centeredness.

Could this be true of us?  Could we be so self-absorbed that even our worship has become about us and not about God?  We cannot forget that “worship is one-directional.  Worship is focusing on God and giving all glory to Him only, alone, singularly, totally – just Him.”

It is time to meet God. In the quietness before the service begins, please prepare your heart to worship God. Our children through 3rd grade should leave with our junior church staff when instructed.
